Dimsome for Windows.

Your PC, warmer and dimmer every evening, pure red by the time you choose, with the backlight at full power so the screen does not flicker.

Set it once.

Dimsome brightens over 4 hours after you wake and fades over 4 hours in the afternoon, so your screen is pure red by the time you choose. No switching modes by hand, nothing to remember.

Not just Night light.

Windows Night light is free and built in. It warms the screen to amber with a strength slider. Dimsome goes all the way to pure red, fades slowly over hours, follows your wake time instead of the sunset, keeps the backlight at full power so it does not flicker, and is the same app on your phone with your times synced. See Dimsome vs Night Shift and Night light.

Laptops and desktops.

On laptops the flicker guard holds the built-in backlight at full power and turns your brightness keys into picture brightness. On desktops the colour filter works on every screen you connect.

Install in five steps.

  1. Get your key on dimsome.app. It shows up right away and comes by email.

  3. If Windows shows a blue window, choose More info and then Run anyway.
  4. Enter your key. Dimsome appears in the system tray, bottom right.
  5. Set your wake time and red-by time, and turn on Open at login.

What people ask.

Why does Windows show a blue window when I open Dimsome?

This version is not yet signed with a Windows certificate. Choose More info and then Run anyway. A signed version is on its way.

Does Dimsome work on Windows 11?

Yes, on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Can I keep Night light on?

You can, but you do not need to. Dimsome goes further, so most people turn Night light off.

Tonight can look different.

Get your key, set two times, and let the evening come to your screen slowly.
