Dimsome for Android.

Your phone, warmer and dimmer every evening, on the same schedule as your computer, with a Quick Settings tile to switch in one tap.

One schedule for every screen.

Set your wake time and red-by time once. They follow you between your phone and your computer, so every screen you own fades together.

As far as Android allows.

Android limits how strong a filter may be over other apps, so the phone keeps a little of the colour your computer loses completely. Dimsome uses everything Android allows and still lets your touches through.

Flicker guard on the phone.

Many OLED phones dim by switching the screen on and off quickly at low brightness. With the flicker guard on, Dimsome keeps the backlight higher and does the dimming with the filter instead. Turn automatic brightness back on and the guard steps aside. More on screen flicker.

Install in five steps.

  1. Get your key on dimsome.app. It shows up right away and comes by email.
  2. Download the Android file on your phone, open it and allow installs from your browser.
  3. Allow Dimsome to display over other apps, so the filter covers the whole screen.
  4. Enter your key, then add the Dimsome tile to Quick Settings.
  5. Set your wake time and red-by time. The same key works on your computer too.

What people ask.

Is Dimsome on Google Play?

A Google Play version is on its way. Until then you can install it from dimsome.app, and it updates in place when you download a new version.

Why does Dimsome ask to display over other apps?

That is how a filter can cover the whole screen, in every app. Dimsome does not read what is on your screen.

Is there an iPhone version?

An iPhone version is on its way to the App Store, and the same key will work there.

Tonight can look different.

Get your key, set two times, and let the evening come to your screen slowly.
